Faculty of Sports Sciences

Physical education is a field that uses various sciences to strengthen and train the body and mind. This field is linked to basic sciences, medical sciences and health on the one hand, and to various sports and movement disciplines on the other hand, so that it can work by training sports specialists in three dimensions: public sports with the aim of improving health and preventing diseases caused by inactivity, championship sports with the aim of improving the quality of sports skills and winning competitions, and also movement therapy with the aim of rehabilitation; rehabilitation of people who have musculoskeletal problems caused by motor poverty or who require motor rehabilitation after surgery. The Faculty of Physical Education of Bu Ali University was established in the Faculty of Literature and Humanities with the approval of the Supreme Council of Development in 1980, and the first group of undergraduate students were admitted in 1993. Due to the follow-up and efforts of the professors, the first admission of students to the master's degree in general orientation was completed in 1996. In 2008, with the separation of master's degree programs, these students were admitted to four majors: sports biomechanics, sports pathology and corrective movements, sports physiology, and sports management.

The Higher Education Development Council finally approved the establishment of Bu Ali Sina University in Hamedan on December 23, 1973. After that, it was officially established in 1974 and began its educational activities in 1976 with the admission of about 200 students at associate and bachelor's degrees in four complexes: agricultural extension, health sciences, environmental sciences, and educational sciences.
